Hope you are having a terrific holiday week and have plans for the New Year that include something delicious.Might that be champagne? I’d search for Elise Bougy, pricey, delicious (and often those don’t two add up)and eccentric. Definitely with a point of view.
Don't forget anything from Charles Dufour, Bourgois Diaz, Stephane Regnault. Flavien Nowack's 'La Tuilerie', Jacques Lassaigne Les Vignes De Montgueux ? Yes. Also, do check out the two Charlot I recommended in last newsletter. Alice & Quentin Beaufort’s latest “Le Petit Beaufort” is outstanding.100% chardonnay.Technically made in Burgundy, just over the border from Aube, it has the taste and spirit of Champagne. At under $40, this beaut is looking more and more like a bargain.
Hopefully this non-Covid bug I have is gone by then so I can indulge.
Ok, in the spirit of let's not bury the lede: I'm taking a long overdue gap semester abroad. Pass the Champagne, please.
For the next five months, I will be based in Paris. Based, but the more I look at the calendar, I'm barely there.
My plan is to travel like mad; learn, absorb, write, and see what happens. There will be lots of good stuff for TFL for sure. So watch all of the usual spaces. First and foremost. Here.
Of course I'm trying to figure out how to handle this social media part of this. The private part of me wants to hide, but that’s not allowed. "No. No. Alice. You don’t get to be a public person and an introvert at the same time."
So check my Instagram for where I am going, what I like, what I’m drinking and who knows what else? The journey starts January 8th.
Now, let’s get to some predictions for the next year.
