No March Moratorium (for wine) for me because the truth is that I did find some comely bottles to drink here in the Luberon. When I eyed the options at “My Bio Shop," there were clearly three natural choices—all at under €15. I brought them home. One was more rock n’ roll than enjoyable. The bottle wasn’t finished. But two others struck gold. And they were both from men named Vincent.

Vincent Christophe’s domain is called Kambyum and situated in Ménerbes. Fortuitous! I reached out. Our appointment was agreed upon; I walked the 24-minute distance across the other side of the Ménerbian road.

His cuverie is in a sweet, tiny, ancient, rented, stone farmhouse in the middle of vineyards that were not his. When I asked about the gnarly vines all over, he explained, “Mostly Muscat de Hamburg, for eating,” and pantomimed popping grapes into his mouth.
